Convert to electric PTO

Just wondering out loud here....................Can the PTO clutch on the Sovereign be converted to electric? I'm kinda thinking out loud to myself (don't tell my wife LOL) that I do enjoy that big Sovereign maybe keeping as a second tractor. Using that PTO is one of the worst things for wife. She needs 2 hands to engage it. I thought it would be cool to make it a switch

I'm pretty sure it would bolt right on. I've got one on my Allis T16 and it has done a ton of work.

My 7016 equivalent Homelite runs the deck from the center PTO (1975 model). What do you power with the front PTO?

Im assuming you are Talking about a more modern sovereign and than what the guys have mentioned. Those only use the mid PTO and a front PTO would never operate the deck. I don’t know that there would be room where the cone coach is mounted for an electic PTO.

Seems like you would have to keep the manual pto and have it engaged....or eliminate it and figure out new belt length

Not sure I understand your idea. I was just wondering if an electric clutch would be a drop in type replacement for the clutch on the left hand side of the BGB

Anything is possible, however the BGB PTO has two different pulley sizes for different applications.  If a person fabricated a bracket to fit over the BGB. than put a shaft sleeve over BGB shaft to fit electric PTO switch.  probably more work than reward

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
      Paul
