Mower deck leveling

Recommended Posts

Tom45

When leveling the mower deck (front to rear) what adjustment do you find works best?  The manual for B series tractors called for the front of the blade to be 1/2" higher than the rear of the blade with the rollers set for the highest cutting position.  The manual for 900 series tractors calls for the front to be 1/8" to 1/4" higher than the rear.  For a different type mower (Woods 3 point hitch finish mower) the manual calls for the reverse of above with the rear of the deck up to 1/2" higher than the front.  And last, instructions for a 3 point hitch rotary cutter says for least power use have the front lower and for smoothest finish have the rear lower.

Which mower are you trying to set up? Go with what the manual says for that deck. Simplicity/AC engineers did the testing before the set up was printed in the manual. I don't believe they would steer you wrong.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
