Winter is coming

I figured I would blow snow this winter with my 3116v. No blower power through the gear box. Right off the crank of a strong 320000 Briggs with a manual transmission  robing little power. I was set.

So I bought a Honda Sovereign cause I couldn't walk past it.

The Honda Sovereign has 22 horses, hydro lift, power steering, and a snow cab. It also came with a barely used 42" single stage blower similar to my older one. To heck with the 1969 stuff. The only problem is that I have no mule drive for it. I've spent way too much time searching for one, or maybe a whole blower in good condition, cause my friend has a mule but I'm going to have to do a lot of work to get his auger housing in shape. Figure he can have the head, and I can have the mule. There is a tractor locally (looks to be a 7100 series with a blower, deck, and tiller, "runs good".) but come on, I've already added 3 to the fleet already this year.

I don't need a third deck, a third tiller, or a 6th tractor, but it's looking like that's where I'm going. Frustrating.

Are you sure that you don't have the above hitch with the snowthrower?   If you are not familiar with the newer sovereigns, the snowblower is driver from the BGB with a very long belt (don'r remember the size right off).   And you change the idler pulley position on the swing arm.

If you are familiar, then my apologies, but the term "mule drive" is not usually used with the RBT tractors.

I figure a mule drive is whatever it takes to have an attachment powered by the tractor. Apparently you guys save that for the center PTO of a FDT? No apologies necessary. I'm tough. Not a snowflake.

I need to send Ray a PM. My buddy thinks I can do ANYTHING and am the worlds most talented fabricator. Regardless of my supposed talent, I have a 7" grinder, AC stick welders, Oxy_Ace torches, a sawzall, and a couple of hand drills. No drill press, band saw, press, TIG or MIG set-up. I don't have a proper welding table or the $1,000 vice I sometimes dream about. Sure I could make it, but it would take more time than it's worth. I have people begging for my other talents and they pay well.

I can't even spell robbing correctly, I'm so frustrated.

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
      Paul
