Seat covers for Simplicity tractors

Recommended Posts

I have 2 Simplicity tractors with rotted seat covers. The 7010 has a 5.5"x 7.5" mounting pattern. The 3310V has a 6.5" x 11.125" mounting pattern and a higher back. Does anyone know where a replacement seat cover or full seat can be purchased at reasonable price? Both the seat pans are good, so I prefer a new cover kit. Looked at Stens, Rotary, etc., but none have the right bolt pattern. The cover for the 3310v looks very similar to the V-475 seat in the Jackson Seating web page. An ideas, without pay an arm and a leg?

Doug: Stens, a division of Ariens, is a WHOLESALER of parts to the L & G industry. They are not likely to send you a catalog without a verifiable connection to lawn and garden, and a tax number.
Most equipment dealers have, or if 'friendly' can get for you, a Stens catalog.
Recovering kits are available at many dealers and farm stores, but they don't look nearly as nice as the original seat.
As I said to Bill, I suggest looking at Michigan Seat and then Northern Tool.

Did you check your Simplicity Dealer. My Simplicity Dealer carries a after market seat cover that will fit the old tractors and says it's better than OEM. Sells for $30.00. Tim

I know we have sold some that were not bad. They just slipped over the whole seat after determining the correct series and the elastic held them on pretty well. Some were sold by Simplicity that were a sort of brownish color and also had a rear storage pocket (not sure if they still are available) and another was made by a company called Trak. These were black and were also available with extra foam padding but would not wear as well as the one from Simp. Our distributor no longer carries these though.

Another thing is that seat coverings on the new Simplicitys are molded for removal and may work for you. They don't have the elastic but instead use formed sides that are somewhat flexable but yet hold it in place. I put one on an older Regent and it looks good but it is a "little" loose.

And you can always check with your local uphosterer - furniture or auto - and have one custom made. Prices with these will vary because of different labor rates. Maybe if you can get enough pre-orders together it may pay for members to ship somewhere and get a group discount. I've seen other clubs make use of this type of "group purchasing" but it is usually when buying new goods. One member is assigned to take orders and payments and make arrangements with the seller after so many minimum orders are filled. Sounds like an idea to think about under another subject heading?

Bill, I don't know about Jackson Seating, but Michigan Seat, in Jackson, MI, is the OEM for many tractor seats.
They can be found at: http://www.mi-seat.com/
Northern Tool & Equipment (formerly Northern Hydraulics) carries a number of their seats.
See: http://www.northern-online.com/

In response to Doug's question; Stens is a wholesale outdoor power products parts supplier, headquartered in Jasper, IN. They do not sell to the general public. You must have a tax number and a valid business to purchase from them. The number for more information is (812) 482-1275.
