a few months ago i purchased a 420 john deere for $600 with a running honda gx670 and bad hydro. after parting out the jd on ebay i sold all but the engine and power steering and got $700 out of it after ebay fees. I am now installing the honda into my allis 720 and going to put on power steering as well as restore the tractor while it is tore down. I sold the running onan a few weeks ago for $400 so now im down to no cost in the 720.20170718_170557.thumb.jpg.635f5e4ad392ee5d8bcb935c52dab449.jpg

Too ambitious project for me, but I’m sure you’ll do a great job with it.  You’re sure off to a good start.

  • 3 weeks later...

just got in from spraying color on the frame and transmission. I decided to make this one replicate an ac200 tractor so the transmission is orange and the cowel on the hood will be black20181103_214944.thumb.jpg.754b851770cb736d7cb9a9f006efa2fc.jpg20181103_214954.thumb.jpg.8b65b8a648190c41a24360243ea23b60.jpg

Stephen, I've got a question on your steering , on Sunstar unit I used on the Kubota build all the fittings came out of the end, I'm just wondering where yours come out and what you had planned for them ? I've always wanted to do this when I had mine and had all the parts to do it but it always just got shuffled to the rear of my project list.

I used all 3/8 hoses and it worked pretty good, had to build bracket to hold the sector.

Just curious as to how you planned.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
