Anyone here have an XL with the ROPS system installed?  Looking for some pictures of mounting location etc.

If not, anyone near a dealer who might have one you could snap some pictures?

Greg, in this video the two types of XL ROPS are shown.  I havent watched the whole thing and havent “heard” a second of it.  Just ran across this via a fellow member.  This is the same fella selling the machine for sale that is being discussed

Josh,

Thanks for the link, wife messaged him last night, and I talked to him this am.

Road trip tomorrow , says just under 5 hours one way.

But I know I'll feel better when the ROPS gets mounted on the XL.

Did not know that it is standard now on all of new tractors of that size/class.

Awesome!!

i didnt realize it was standard either.  Most of the new style XLs I have seen dont have it 🤷‍♂️

Picked it up yesterday.

Through freezing rain storm on the way out. 600 miles round trip in all.

Heavy down pours and PA turnpike closures on the way back.  Oh what fun............

Unused ROPS bought at an estate sale, by the story I got.  Now to hope Femco (OEM Manufacturer) will have Operator/install manual with parts list available. Also hoping they can provided assembly hardware as there was none.

Glad to hear you made the trip safely.  Yesterday’s weather was certainly the pits.

Good luck with your literature and hardware search.

Wow...what a trip. We were supposed to be hammered today with similar weather. ..So far nothing here in my portion of Wisconsin. dOd

That looks simple to build. I believe my popemobile cab is also a rops.

So my first step was to contact Femco asking for install/operator manual for ROPS, like Simplicity manual says to.  Also asked If install parts were available to purchase.

Femco's response, "go back to the dealer you bought it from."  Arrrggggg.

Told them it was out of business, and asked "now what?"

Cannot wait for that response.

As far as install it appears straight forward bolt to rear hitch, not sure how the foldingtop  section would be fastened though.

Be nice to know where the seatbelt was supposed to be fastened also.

Worked out OK once she got someone else involved.

Have the install manual in PDF, and jsut got off the phone ordering the hardware bag including the Seat Belt.

Now all I need is either space in the heated shop, or spring warm weather to do the install :D

A good rops and a seatbelt should give you a more secure feeling in sticky situations. Not a thing wrong with safety, it's less painful than the alternative! sm00

Hey Greg @GregB, do you still have a copy of that Femco install manual?

I'm sure I do, just have to find it.

You want me to E-mail it to you?
