FDT Hi-Lo

   the hi-lo on the landlord would not shift from one to the other. the shifting handle would not budge it. i had to use a wrecking bar to lever it outward and a rubber mallet to move it in. i use the hi-lo for tilling but i like to go from the shed to the garden at more than a snail's pace.

   now that it is disassembled, i find the C ring inside the planetary is the problem. either it is bent or is too hard and won't spread to allow the shaft to slide thru it.

   any ideas on how to 'soften' the C clip so there is not so much resistance to the shaft? looks like the C is put in before the bushing so it is not going to come out easily
