I thought I'd share what I've been working on for the last four months. I picked this nice B-210 out of Iowa almost two years ago. It needed some of the variable speed components replaced as it was so worn I couldn't adjust it. I planned to swap in a BGB and rear end out of a donor tractor and then throw my L-112 loader on it that has been sitting around for ten years. Unfortunately the loader no longer looks as nice as the tractor. As usual nothing went like planned. I'm getting closer. As of tonight the tractor is back on all four wheels. I have completely rebuilt the BGB, cleaned and inspected the differential, new differential keys, LH axle hub keys replaced, both axle seals, Poor-Mans power steering upgrade, new front wheel bearings, rebuilt the steering gear, making it greasable. Pulled front axle to clean and install front loader mount. For some reason I don't have a picture of the front mount after painting it. IMG_8775.jpg.8d17ccdf9cf9c348e08dceb485441c82.jpg

After installing the front mount I removed the dash tower and tank support to split the tractor to swap the rear ends. At this point I thought I'd go a head and completely remove the BGB and replace all seals and keys since I was so close. I found that while the box felt very tight by hand there was indeed some wear on the input shaft. I ended up using a new shaft, a new input gear, and all new bearings, seals, and keys.

Seems like this is "normal" - at least it is for me most of the time.

It totally blows me away at the length everyone goes to save these old tractors  dOd

I've restored a couple over the years but never to the degree ya'll have, well maybe B 207 that now resides in Illinios.

Am looking for rebuildable B 112 if anyone has one.

Great job everyone and keep up the good work, love reading stories like this

More progess has been made. More surprises found. I attempted to adjust the variable speed system. The pulleys were all good and the rear linkages good. I found that the clutch idler was leaning to the right due to wear on the pin, causing the belt to slip between the pulley and the belt guide. To correct this, I bent the arm slightly to straighten out the travel of the idler.  I then found there was interference between the idler and the rear loader mount. I had to grind away at the corner of the mount. Looking forward to cleaning it up better and replacing some hoses. This thing will be extremely handy. 

I changed the oil in the loader prior to operation. The oil was red and smelled burnt. I put 10W-30 in it per the manual.
