The wind never laid down, peaking around 30mph, sustained, tues-wed. We ended up with around 20-22” of snow, most lake effect that piled up slowly. The drifts I cut in the driveway once per day were roughly as tall at the armrests on the tractor, and my coldest outing was -13 (-36 windchill). I tried to only go out during the “best” conditions each day. It was miserable. It would have been a man-child’s dream come true, had I not broken my XL the weekend prior. I finished opening up the driveway today (1100’, about 8 passes due to the snowdepth) and began scraping the hardpack with the B-1. https://youtu.be/ZoaNxfwiWHA Nice vid. Looks like terrible conditions to not have a cab.
720nut
40+ yesterday and supposed to be even warmer today , over 1/2 of snow gone already enjoying higher temps, lots of people in shorts yesterday, at least whistle pig (groundhog ) as we called them in Pa. didn't see his shadow so maybe there's hope

I’m trying not to think about it! I lost oil pressure and my dummy light came on. Did an oil change and hooked up an oil pressure gauge. I am hoping a new oil pump relief valve will remedy the issue because beyond that they only thing I can think of is a plug oil gallery but that seems awful unlikely for a 500 hour diesel engine. Because of the storm, UPS had a delay and shipment so my valve should be here tomorrow. 1

I assume the oil pressure gauge confirmed the lack of oil pressure indicatating the "low oil pressure sensor" is OK.

Yea...unfortunately. Acceptable pressure range is 28-70psi (3000rpm). My machine starts at 50psi and drops to 25 within a minute (at idle rpm). Affer warming it drops to around 10psi. 3000rpm bumps it to about 15-20psi. Too low for comfort.

jlasater
Still don't have a snowblower for the 9020 and installing the blower on the 716H is a PITA...so pulled the old John Deere 40 crawler out and plowed the roads in the neighborhood. Pretty good driving just past my house as you leave town, with some houses out there. By the time I was done, 2+ car widths down to asphalt. One turkey stopped as I was plowing and said "ya know, doing that makes 2ft drifts into 4ft drifts"....after I had only made one pass. I wasn't done yet! People can be knuckle heads. BigNickNY
Its been a really mixed bag for us here in NY, the lake isn't completely frozen like we'd hoped and they're calling for our usual storms here and there. But lately, its been rain, sleet, ice. Today was probably the only decent day we'll see in a little while, even had the car washed.
MikeES
I got over 32" of snow with 4 storms in a week. Each storm was over 8", made the 7120 work hard...maybe to hard. Between the just finishing up the third storm, while my son was driving, the tractor suddenly started smoking so he shut down, came a got me and we towed into the shop. Talk about loosing oil pressure, it looks like we blew the oil seal out of the rear (under the flywheel) crankshaft, and it looks like all the oil was unloaded. I hope the engine is OK. There is another storm due this evening, and the biggest one yet...so what do I do? More than a couple of inches is too much for the 710 with a blade. Like most guys with the fever I have an ACe up my sleeve, pulled out the 917 (which also has a 20hp magnum) move the cab and snowthrower over to it, put on chains (had another set), and was ready to go! And my wife helped me, as I was pointing out how valuable having an extra tractor or 4 is.

steve-wis
Ok, I know I wanted some snow to play in, but I think I have enough at least for a while. Had 8-9 inches last week, then another 5-6 last night, and another 5-8 coming Tuesday night. Here are a few pics of the snow, along with some of my winter workers. The Agco has the hood up as the battery charger is on the battery. And, a pic of my new "getting to work" transportation that has been doing a great job this winter as well. Having a lot of fun this winter!!!
PhanDad
@steve-wis Send some my way. Maybe @GregB too so he can play with his “new” Legacy with loader. Last week I got to use the blower tractor on 2” of super-wet snow - the kind that gives shovelers heart attacks. Other than that, it’s been a couple of 1”er’s. Forcast for my area is stuck on “some snow changing to ice then rain”. Supposed to get a couple of those this week. Still waitin’ for the big one
wwbragg
They must have seen 18 inches last week near Seattle. Must have shut things down like an old Sears store. Here in Toledo (about 100 miles south) we saw a couple of inches but now - - -see the pic

Kenh
Be careful what you wish for........ About a foot of snow with 40 mph winds for a day and a half has a four foot snow drift in my yard about eighty feet wide across my drive. A little to much for the 7119 and blower. A little to much for my Mustang 332 also. I'm having my neighbor with a 180 hp tractor and loader come over to bust a path through. First photo is at end of drive . Second photo I'm at the red building looking where the first photo was taken. Ken
