26 hp Onan engine??

I have the opportunity to buy a tractor (going to see this afternoon) that has a 4 speed transaxle with a hi-lo range and a 26 hp Onan. I am not sure of the make yet, but I want to know 2 things: 1. Did onan make a 26 hp horizontal twin? 2. How much would it be worth in running condition? I want to build a project using the tranny and engine but I do not want to steal it from this man (used tractors suppliment his income) and I do not want to be taken to the cleaners. Thanks, Roy

Probably a Case or Ingersol.

Tuffy is probably right. The company I work for supplies 4wd components to Ingersoll for their loader and backhoe. These things are built like a brick $%&@ house and last forever. New they run about $10,000 new.
