18hp Onan value

I need to know what an 18hp Onan engine model# b48m-ga-018 / 3417a is worth in running condition. I have a chance to buy a garden tractor with this and a 6 speed tranny (not a Simplicity, just to do the nasty work cleaning wooded area). The price seems right but I need to know what the engine is worth if the tranny is shot. BTW: Thanks to everyone who replied to the 26hp?? post as you can see the gentleman was incorrect. Roy
