mb 0 Posted April 25, 2002 Amen ! I couldn't agree more. I own a newer (1987) 7117 and it is comforting to know that there is a board like this with people like you all that offer knowledge and support for anything to do with AC / simplicity products. I am thoroughly happy with my tractor and plan on having it for a long, long time with the help and advice of the folks participating on this board. Thanks ! Guest Posted April 25, 2002 I learn something everytime i visit this site, look around the net at owners clubs, this one puts em to shame, it helps we have expert members and experts who maintain this site. I find it amazing that you can post a question in the morning and before lunch youve got at least one response. Dougm
Guest Posted April 25, 2002 A couple of years ago the deck of my MTD rider fell apart, so I asked my neighbor, owner of a lawn/garden store, to watch for a deck I could modify to work. Two months later he pulled into the yard with an AC HB-112 tractor with the 42" mower deck and the 36" snowblower. He had taken it in on trade and had nothing he could profitably do with it(it needed some work), so he gave it to me! The work was relatively minor, and soon I had it up and going. The mower deck on this baby isn't gonna rust to pieces right away, that's for sure! At over 30 years old, it's in better shape than the one-year old MTD tractor my brother bought at Wal-mart. I kid him about it every chance I get, too. This site is just what I've been looking for. Already I've found out that the drive belt supplied with the mower was the wrong size, and it had been mounted on the wrong PTO pulley. Even at half speed, this mower deck does a great job! That belt finally gave out, so I have to get a new one. As a farmer, I have an account with an industrial belt supply, so I should be fine-now that I know the right size. Thanks to all of you for putting this site together! TJ Andrews
