Sovereign seat help

Rylan's legacy

I put this one from ebay on my 707 and love it.  For my 7119, I tore the vinyl off and took the pan and padding to a local upholstery shop.  $50 well spent.

While cutting with my A/C917H last September, I nearly rolled off the back going up the hill. The pan gave way on my seat.

I went to TSC and got this.

I needed to add the piece of wood so the springs would hold the seat level. Not original, but practical.

Years back I picked up this generic seat at Lowes:

Similar seats can be found at Northern Tool, eBay, etc.

But it only had these mounting holes:

None of the holes were suitable for the hinged seat brackets, so out came the drill and threaded rivet kit and now we have the required mounting holes:

Then bolt on the brackets:

And bolt the seat to the tractor:

When I first mounted the seat, it was tilted backward too much for my taste (very noticeable compared to the Simplicity seat). Luckily the Homelite seat pan has the drop off in front and I was able to reverse the bracket that mounts to the seat deck so the the loop is down rather than up. That solved the problem:

Your seat brackets are different, but I'm sure you can do the same thing.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
