dhoadley 1,835 Posted April 30, 2019 My A/C917H is a dedicated mower. Greased the spindles and the brake pedal. Is there anything underneath that I would need to remove the deck to get at? Thanx, Dave
Brettw 1,278 Posted April 30, 2019 Steering gear is about it from the underside.
Tom45 83 Posted April 30, 2019 If you do have the deck off, oil or grease the pivot for the arm that mounts the idler pulley on the deck.

Tom45 83 Posted May 2, 2019 If you have a flex hose on your grease gun you only need to lower the deck and do not have to remove it. You may have to feel where the fitting is.
Bill725 1,447 Posted May 2, 2019 What about the front spindles, the RH wheel hub and axle tube?
dhoadley 1,835 Posted May 3, 2019 Did the spindles, the front rims don't seem to have any zerks. I do have a flex hose on the grease gun. I'll try to find that steering gear zerk this weekend. Thanx, Dave
Bill725 1,447 Posted May 3, 2019 Consider replacing the front bearing caps with bearing buddies
Tom45 83 Posted May 3, 2019 There should be a grease fitting on each side of the front axle on each spindle, one on the right rear hub and one on the right axle tube. The front wheels have roller bearings that are greased at assembly. They do good if the mower is not in the rain or sprayed with water. The wheel seals will let in water if that is the case. Don't forget to check the hydrostatic oil and bevel gear box oil.
