9020 powermax electrical

Hello everyone, I am not new but it's been awhile "couple years" and forgot my old handle, or it was deleted.

Anyway, I own 5 9020's, lots of attachments, loader, backhoe, cab, and much more...

I ran into an issue with my mower tractor and looking for some ideas.

Cutting grass running fine, and then dies. No dash lights, fuel pump not powered, etc.

Battery good, circuit breaker/relay clicks "rectangular box with two studs as connectors ". Ohmmeter will jump to neg when breaker clicks.

Randomly with key at on position everything will work for a few seconds, even had it start 1 time but instantly died and same issue.

Not getting power to coil. And cannot remember how the start circuit power runs "test points".

Note, on this tractor I did the electronic ignition upgrade. I have had no problems with it but thought I would mention

Long winded I know, but trying to give a good explanation. Lol

I remember you.  We talked.  I lived in St. Peter & knew the Snyders @ Silica. I think this is you @blangkabel.  Us Powermax guys need to look out for one another.

To answer your question, it sounds to me like your key switch is malfunctioning.  With the key in the on position, you should have 12 volts @ the + side of the coil.  When the key is turned to the start position, it should also be 12 volts or dip maybe to 10 or so while cranking.  You need three hands to do this or jam the - lead of your meter in a good ground so you have the other hands free.

Yes, I do live in St. Peter

I do know them from the area. Are you still around my area?

I did get it running but not exactly sure how, just started wiggling wires. Lol

I am trying to recall who you are, I have had a few people stop and ask about the tractors

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
      Paul
