arnoldir 0 Posted April 25, 2002 Hello all, My first real "new" machine. Now I only have to finish a few projects around the house (3 weeks worth) before I can wear the paint off the buckets. http://home.att.net/~herb.niewender/ra-seq.jpg
Roy 0 Posted April 25, 2002 Looks good! I've always wanted a Magnatrac. I hope it works out well for you. Keep us posted on what you're doing with it. Roy
powermax_paul 1 Posted April 25, 2002 Looks like a machine you could make some money with. Check with some remodeling contractors to see if they want some excavation done for additions to rears of homes. It's always a challenge for us to get (equipment for) foundations in for rear additions. Do they offer rubber tracks? Looks like a great machine! SmilinSam 4,244 Posted April 25, 2002 WoW! You got the whole 9 yards. I priced one of those outfits a couple of years ago and it wasn't cheap, in fact I watched a couple of Case 480?? crawlers in fairly good shape bring only a little more money than the new MAgnatrac with all the goodies. Like Paul said , it can make money. That thing is quite capable of paying for itself as you can get into places where bigger things can't go. HAve fun with it! JonetteP 0 Posted April 25, 2002 Sam took the words out of my mouth, but I'll say it again--WOW! That's a beautiful machine, and with an especially beefy-looking "hoe" (not to sound "anti-PC" or anything). Please tell us if you decide to make money with it, and how it goes, if you don't mind, so I can start selling my better half on the idea. BTW-how heavy is it? How do you plan to transport it, if you do? Peter

arnoldir 0 Posted April 26, 2002 Thanks for the nice words guys. I do plan on getting the machine set up as a buisness, with some liability insurance. But that will not be for at least 6 months as I have much to do with my own house and yard. The machine, and all the acessories: 2 buckets for loader, 2 buckets and claw for backhoe, hydraulic auger drive and 9" bit, 3pt hitch and weight box, Tipped the scale at 6260 lbs. The machine as it sits is right around 4500 lbs. My plan is to buy a self powered hydraulic dump trailer from Bri-Mar Trailers, they have a model that has pull out ramps so you can run a machine up into it. This way I can haul spoil and machine without having to get a dump truck. As far as used machine values and availability, I checked the net and found 3 gas powered Hydro 5000's with simmilar equipment for 15k - 18k. The diesel has only been in production for a year and no used ones could be found.
Roy 0 Posted April 26, 2002 MPH, Them "funny looking things on the trees" are flowers. In the South 48 this happens a lot in the Spring. Sorry you have to wait until July to see them in Alaska. Roy

Guest Posted April 26, 2002 When I read magna-trac I thought you meant the garden tractor magna trac which is a teal color and white and has a Simplicity looking deck on it.
