Gcabinet1 Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Hi guys the rear PTO on my 4041 stop working I am getting power at the clutch ,winding seam intact ,some of the surface epoxy has come out Are these still available or does someone on the site repair them? thanks for your help in advance Gary
jlasater Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Did you check resistance across the windings with it unplugged?
Gcabinet1 Posted May 19, 2019 Author Posted May 19, 2019 No , “I only know enough about electrical stuff to be dangerous!” How do I check that? Thanks
PhanDad Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 If there’s 2 leads coming from the clutch, check the resistance between them. Should be at least a few ohms. Maybe someone here knows the spec. Also check each lead to ground - that reading should be infinite. If there’s only 1 lead, then measure the resistance to ground (other “lead” is already grounded).
720nut Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Contact Mike Noonan or Mike Brown they know someone who rewinds the clutches 1
Brettw Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 I am not sure how that clutch is set up, but if it can be adjusted you might want to check the clearances on the clutch? I have seen cleaned up connections and adjusted clearances make them work well again. Just a thought.
