Simplicity 5010 questions

Hi, I was going through the contents of the site awhile back and seen the system 5010.Is this the same as a 738/728?Any one have any specs.on it?What I am mostly getting at is it says on the flyer/ad that it has a 42in. mower deck.But the 738&728 tractors only came with 36in decks.I am wondering if I can get a 42in. deck under my 728?In the what fits section it looks as though the Landlord style decks fit the 5010 with some hitch hardware.I think I have read or heard that the 5010 might be a little longer wheel base,which might be why it has the 42in. deck. Anyone have any info on this? Thanks, mowerman1193

Mowerman I married a 738 frame with a 10hp and a 5010 rearend and a hood the only difference that I found was the lift arm. The deck housings are the same and yes the frame hardware is different. Hope this helps. I found that the frames of the tractors measured the same. Jeff

Hi, The 3008 and the 5010 are stretched, There is more room between the wheels and the grill and the center of the engine mtg bolt circle. This how they can put the 25 cu in engine in. It is also how the 42 inc deck fits. Good luck, Al Eden

I have a 5010 here that I'm repowering with a 12.5HP Briggs. The decks are the same as the larger tractor 42" decks save for the hitch on the front of the deck. The 5010 hitch is shorter and the ends of the tangs are narowwed to fit the 5010 frame mounts. Even so its still a tight fit on the tractor.
