LMichaels Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Was the B112 capable of fitting a 48" deck? Looking at getting a possible backup deck and found guy selling what he says is 48" but I think is a 42" here is the link https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1492718447532181/?ref=messenger_banner
PhanDad Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 (edited) Yes, the B-112 ran a 48" deck. The issue might be the adjusters hitting the your newer tractor's running boards. I know that's an issue with the B-110 42" decks. To use my B-110 42" deck on a RBT, I cut off what was left of the T handle of old adjusters to minimize the interference: A piece of threaded rod should work as well. Or I think you could eliminate the adjuster and just bolt the roller tight at the highest cutting position. PS - Unless you change out the deck driven pulley the blades will spin faster than design since the FDT decks have smaller diameter driven pulleys than the RBT decks (3300 series RBT decks are the only exception I believe). Chris727 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 The deck in the ad is a 48." They used the same adjusters on the 3400 Series with 48" decks so I don't think it will be a significant issue. One thing that will be an issue is the lift point is different. Your lift cable will likey not reach as the B-Series decks lift by a chain attached to the bar going across the rear of the deck instead of having an eyebolt. 1
LMichaels Posted July 1, 2019 Author Posted July 1, 2019 OK thanks for the info guys. He had messaged me explaining the deck was 48" across the outside of the deck. (Not including the deflector). When I measured my current deck the same way (housing exterior) it measures close to 52" across even though the tag clearly says 48" I was just thinking about this as a spare but perhaps not worth my trouble
720nut Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I had B112 w48" deck and ran 26 x 12 x 12 Firestones no problem
kwt Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 (edited) Most likely, a 42" deck, but for $125, assuming the spindles are good, I might just grab it. Old school deep Simplicty decks are no longer being made. Edited July 4, 2019 by kwt
LMichaels Posted July 4, 2019 Author Posted July 4, 2019 I passed on it. Really was only looking at it as a spare. But too much retrofitting to make it work on the Sovereign
