Simplicity Manufacturer

Have been talking to a fellow at work about buying a mid 90's Simplicity. He claims that the tractors are made by MTD, like Cub Cadet. I feel that he is wrong but do not have much info to discuss with him. So I guess my question is who is the manufacturer of Simplicity tractors, now and in recent history? They used to be made by AC but in a round about way they are out of business. Any input would be a great help, Thanks, Doug

That's right Doug. As far as I know, the employees at Simplicity bought out the company when AC pulled out. Once you have an employee owned company, the stock becomes very well distributed among the people of the company and in their trust funds/retirement plans. This makes a buyout very difficult by another company. I used to work for a company with a similar setup. Paul

HI Doug, I would inform this man that anyone who has ever said that is misinformed! If you can find a MTD or whatever that will compete with a simplicity, I am surprized. Do Not take my word, check for yourself.
