Small frame blower hitch

Maxwood was looking to buy the hitch for a small frame snowblower head. I offered to measure and take pictures for fabrication porpoises.image.jpeg.9a2383c2e7cc4648680713bcec03fa5e.jpeg

I don't know what the proper name for the small, bolted on mounting pieces are called, but I will refer to them as "ears". There are 3 holes to mount them to the main hitch; 3 1/2", 4 1/4", and 5" from the head mounting holes.

Where the pulley mounts is slotted with a 1 3/4" travel.

The "ear" slots are 3/8" opening.

The "ear" is 4 1/2" from hitch mount to slot mount.

Now I'll throw up my raw photos.

Hello, That is fantastic.

if you can add the length overall ,and the angle , and where the angle is from the blower mount  hole.

If the mount is laying flat,   how far is  the pulley end part of the frame  from the flat surface.

what is the dimension from the blower mount  hole to center of pulley ?

what is the thickness of the flat stock 5\16  or 3\8 s

I hope my request for the added info makes sense?

Thanks Ken in Mi

11 1/4" to the near edge of the crossmember, which is where the angle begins.

Most of it is 5/16", except the crossmember, pulley mount, and the outermost part of the "ears", which is 3/16".

Hello, Finally got it painted and found an idler  pulley  The next question is, why is the pulley on the snowblower so far offset from center?

I thought all snowblowers were interchangeable,  and different hitches were used

I flipped it the pulley over , and it still doesn't line up with the cutout on top of the snowblower hitch area.

I may have to cut the tube that the shaft runs in . the shaft goes from the pulley to the chain drive.

Thanks Ken in Mi

It took me a little while to work out, and I haven't mounted it up this year, but I remember that the head pulley was engaged off one side PTO pulley and the hitch pulley routed over the other side. If I get a little time this weekend, I'll go over and mount it up a take photos and notes.

Hooked up the snowblower to my Broadmoor 717. The belt measures 1/2" x 81".

Here's just the hitch. Noticed that the "idler" pulley is tilted, top towards the left.

The routing goes as follows:

Off the top of the head pulley to over the top of the left PTO pulley.

Around the engine pulley, left to right.

Around the right PTO pulley, top to bottom.

Around the idler pulley, right to left.

To bottom of head pulley.

Great work as usual.

And you even have snow to get some seat time.  sm01

I'm still waiting.

Might it be a winter with no seat time?
