One of the yeomans i have has the original briggs 6hp on it. All I know about it is that it does have compression and no spark. This was going to be a parts unit but now im curious.... so, does this have points? where are they? it sat outside for 4 years. thanks in advance Dougm

most of the points engines that I've seen they are under the flywheel. If it is a sideshaft motor they are sometimes on the side of the block under a little cover with 2 screws.

Hi Doug, I would just put an electronic ignition on. It will save you trouble. Neal

I just put electronic ignition on a 6 hp Broadmoor. It originally had a 3 leg magneto. I had to put on a 2 leg magneto and change the flywheel so I could install the electronic ignition module. It was'nt compatable with a 3 leg. I now have good spark but it has some carb problems.
