Electronic Ignition Module Revisited

Recommended Posts

Roy
Gang, Put a "Nova 31-1986" electronic ignition module" on the Model 19 B & S in my B-1 today. Simple installation and works good. Now I'm waiting to see if the engine still cuts out under load when it gets hot. If it does at least I will know the problem is not related to the points, condenser, or cam lobe for the points. Installation was simple. Hook the coil wire and kill wires to the "+" terminal and ground the "-" terminal. I should have done this years ago. Roy

Roy, What does one of these kits cost? Where can you buy them? It certainly seems like an easy alternative to the Magnetron... Kent

I would like to know the same as Kent. Is "Nova" the name brand, and is your model 19 a magnamatic? Thanks John H

The Nova 31-1986 is an Outdoor Power Equipment Service Parts item by Rotary Corp. You can go to Rotary Corp's web site to find a dealer near you. It cost $14.95 plus tax. Any good outdoor power equipment shop should carry them. Yes, It is on a Model 19 with Magnamatic. Roy
