are chrome better in a new bored block

I am having a aluminum B\S block bored over sized and I was wandering I shold use chorme rings or stanard rings ?

Always been my understanding chorme will last longer but may have problems seating. Not sure about al blocks..MPH

I wouldnt use chrome rings in aluminum. The rings are harder then the cyclinder, the cyclinder wears out, but the rings are fine. With regular rings, you can replace the rings when you start losing compression.

I would not use chrome rings on any engine. They wear out the cylinder instead of the ring. definitely don't use on aluminum. Bad experiences every time I have used them. Rod H.
