BrownA 2 Posted May 12, 2002 I just picked up a 42" Allis Chalmers second design snowblower attachment. It is the yellow color like on the B-series tractors. It has no numbers and I was wondering what it might be off of ? I have done some searching on this site but can't really figure what it went on. How many years were the machines painted the yellow from the B-series ? Is this too big for a B-210 10 hp ? I know the type of snow is a big factor with that question ? Any info on this would be helpfull. I am just curious. Thanks, Alan
Kent 436 Posted May 13, 2002 Like 48" mower decks, they were available for the 12-HP B-series -- B-112s and B-212s (maybe even the B-12s, but I'm not sure)... Based on using the smaller one on my B-210 with this New England wet snow, I'm thinking your B-210 will be challenged to use it at times. As long as it's dry snow and not the "concrete" piled up by the plows at the end of the driveway, it'll probably work OK... With the wet slushy stuff -- it'll be a strain, but you can try it by not taking a "full cut" at a time, but I'm not sure how that will effect clogging the chute... BTW, those things are hard to find!
MPH 12 Posted May 13, 2002 Alan, ain't no way that is ever going to work, we best formulate a plan on getting it shipped to Alaska. But if you have to use it, the worst ever happened when I had the 32 inch on my 725 and was blowing through about 30 inches of all winter collected snow was I had to 'clutch' my way along on the first pass though. After that half bites worked fine...MPH
