Sunstar/Ultima won't start

Bypass the safety switch on the seat and make sure the neutral light is on. that's the easiest place to start.

Well, got to messing around with it, and started by cleaning the connector to the front PTO clutch - and as myteriously as it stopped starting, it started starting again. Just out of curiousity - how would I go about bypassing the seat safety switch? I assume that when one with sufficient weight (such as me) sits in the seat the connection is closed. So, can I go to the connector and just short across it and get it to behave like it is connected? Thanks.

My Deutz-Allis 1920 Ultima won't start - it acts like one of the safety switches is preventing anything from happening. Lights go on, plenty of juice, but when I turn the key over to start it up - nothing happens. Any suggestions? It ran just fine last week, sat out in the rain on Saturday, now this. Any help would be appreciated (the rain keeps falling and the grass keeps growing).
