Forklift

Another thing to remember, Kevin, is that you have to have enough weight on the opposite end of the machine to balance the load you are picking up.I was in the rigging business for years and you generally need a 20% heavier counterweight than the loads you want to pick up. Good luck with the machine. Sounds like an interesting project. Tom

You might want to consider a winch designed for an ATV JSC

Anybody have any advice on building a forklift attachment for a 725 of Landlord tractor that would mount on the back and drive off of the mid PTO and not require hydraulics.

Easiest way I can think of would be to find a mechanically driven reversible winch. In the long run I think hydraulics would be much easier & do a far better job. Why don't you want to go the hydraulic route?

The reason I don't want to use hydraulics is because they can get expensive when you need to buy a gear pump and a long cylinder and a valve, they require more work to assemble.
