I love my job

So I'm a P&D (pickup and delivery) driver for an LTL (less than truckload) truck carrier.  I do about 20 stops a day in a relatively small area of CT.  Our trailers have liftgates, so we do residential as well as businesses.  Yesterday I was bringing a rolling tool chest to a guy's house and in the garage I spot this.

So I ask him what it goes to, expecting him to reply, "an old John Deere".  But he doesn't.  He replies, "A '73 GE Elec-Trak".  Not seeing it, I ask him if he still has the tractor and he says yes, it's in the back yard. I had to move it to make room for the tool chest.  So we walk around back and this is what I see.

He says the motor that drives the auger is 60 amp.

Nice find. I’ve spent 30+ years delivering livestock feed and have hauled several mowers back. I’ve had to be a little more creative not having a lift gate lol.

Interesting old snowblower at a delivery yesterday.

When will one of your unusual finds be loaded onto your truck?

Cannot even figure out how you would steer that monster.

Did they do a drive for wheels separate, to spin it?  Cannot imagine how it would do blowing a curve.

Does this count?

No.
Your work delivery truck.

.... unless the tractor in your truck was in the delivery truck.

No, I'm not doing that. My retirement plan hinges on staying where I am another 7 years. The trailer does have a 7' x 5' liftgate platform, so I COULD grab about anything I would consider purchasing. 3000lb lift capacity. I live within my delivery area, so I'd never be more than 40 miles from home. I'd pay for it and come back later on my own time.

Remember years ago when I was driving truck was up in Minnesota and loaded a brand new 20 hp Kohler on passengers seat,  Indians at friends and rotiller on passengers side on floor, biggest was a Gleaner model C combine loaded heads and extra parts on my flatbed and made a second trip with buddies dropdeck to get machine from northern Illinous.  Over the 18 yrs I spent over the road have hauled a lot home.
