Bweb
So I tried to register my recently purchased JCPenney 494 model 1830 and I couldn't select series. So any how here it is with it I got wheel weights, chains, 42" plow, 42" mower deck box full of various new parts and the original owners manual. It didn't run when I got it so I plan on revamping the fuel system and ignition system to start with then go from there.

Here's the spot to register your tractor: https://simpletractors.com/collections/category/322-494cc/ But you might need to be a dues paying member to do so.

BLT
I am guessing your engine is a Briggs 302431 type 144 - 01 or 155 - 01, 13 HP.494CC is awful close to 30CID.plus or minus.
kwt
I'm looking @ that carb with the needle/main jet still in place and hoping that you haven't destroyed it.

Bweb
So now after a new battery some cables and the carb re-assembled I got it running but now I'm concerned the governor might be messing up. After the engine starts and I push the choke in it trys to run away (overspeed) and adjusting the jets don't seem to help.

GregB
If the lever that hooks up to governor linkage is going the wrong way it will overspeed. Compare the original carb top section to the replacement carb. Do not run in this condition. I have a briggs with a blown governor due to that overspeed, figured it out to late....... Bweb
So now I have the opportunity to get a 42" snow thrower 1691522 but it comes with hitch attachment 1692040. So is there anywhere I can look for mounting options. What changes need to be made to the hitch to work with manual lift?
PhanDad
The OEM setup on a 7000 series tractor is a 2 pulley hitch and a front PTO: Above is OEM mechanical Above is "new" style electric PTO

If you don't have a front PTO, I recommend you get creative using the 7100 series snow thrower system as a template. Less bends in the drive belt is better. Bweb
So it has been awhile since I updated my thread but I was wondering if anyone came across a color match for the 494cc, I would like to touch up a few spots and don't want to get into a color match nightmare. The electric PTO is Warner Part #5215-142. I got it from J. Thomas Distributors years ago.
