John_RI 8 Posted May 13, 2002 Came across this on eBay. Description says that tractor was built for Sears by Simplicity. Can anyone shed light on this? Kent 436 Posted May 13, 2002 Dunno what he's been smoking... but it looks like a Roper-made tractor to me... I don't see anything that bears any resemblance to Simplicity, and as far as I know, they never did. I've heard claims that they may have made some for JC Penney, but I've been unable to confirm or disprove it.
MPH 12 Posted May 13, 2002 I agree Kent, only thing that looks like it MIGHT fit a Simplicity is the 5 bolt rear rims. Me thinks he been smokin; the rope r..MPH

Sandy 0 Posted May 14, 2002 That tractor is a SS15 built by Roper for Sears, I know.... They DO have some mean weeds in New Hampshire and it has infected this guys mind, no doubt. Sandy
HubbardRA 20 Posted May 14, 2002 Not a Simplicity. I've got a 12 Hp version of this machine sitting in my back yard. It is a "Roper"! Very popular tractors in these parts. I've seen plenty of them. Rod H.
