Unofficial Home of Old Simplicity & Allis-Chalmers Garden Tractors

Recommended Posts

You posted on the Facebook Page. I have still not had a chance to go to my garden spot and take pics of my M1, but it is similar to your Wards. Try a couple things. There is a 2 wheel tractor page on Facebook, ask to join. The attached link is a 2 wheel Simplicity page. The entire transmission racks on the M1 rather than having a movable idler to engage the belt, or to tension the belt for travel. Apparently, there is a pawl inside your transmission that engages on the opposite side of the drive gear for reverse. You should have one belt for travel, the other is for implements.

See if you can get help here http://www.ssbtractor.com/wwwboard/view_all.cgi?bd=lawn&msg=25645
