Long Plug Wire on New Coil

The new replacement coil for my 10 hp Briggs has a much longer plug wire than the old coil- it's at least 6" to 8" too long. Is it that long for a reason? Should I shorten it or leave it alone? An extra spark plug end-connector was also supplied. Thanks for any input.

cut it to length, put on new end, thats what its there for. good luck Dougm

They may be using this coil for several different applications. I would leave the factory connector on it and save the spare for just that, a spare.
