Peerless Mod 815 Transmission

My Regent 4208 has this transmission and I am looking for any information about it. 1) Does anyone have a diagram or instructions on opening the case? 2) Has anyone rebuilt the wheel axle bearings from a kit if available? 3) I think it uses 90W oil but would like a confirmation. I got a bunch of pictures to share with other members on this tranny. Just click on the link below. Any info on this tranny would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance![A href='http://www.angelfire.com/wizard/thedigitalzeus/815/index.html']http://www.angelfire.com/wizard/thedigitalzeus/815/index.html[/a]

That looks like the same one thats in my 4211.About the same tractor exept I have the 11hp.motor.If you have a model # from the tractor you can download a parts manual that will show a blown up view.I have a Peerless service manual that covers the 800 series transmissions. If you need it I can scan it and email you the (I think 4 pages)that covers the 800 series.I posted the link to the place to download the manual. Email me if you need the pages scaned mowerman1193 [A href='http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/techpubsearch.php']http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/techpubsearch.php[/a]

BigSix, The hot chic is someone on HSN (shopping channel) and the cat is our special cat we rescued from death, and is the best cat we every had! But, since that doesn't belong in the topic, I removed it from that URL along with the belly picture of the Regent tractor. Now, the link only has transmission pics. Thanks. mowerman1193, Thanks for the reply and the link info. I'm trying the link now for the download pdf format info....OK, it says pdf not available and the 36" mower deck pdf just tells you that it is not available, so scanned pages would be great!

Hi, I have a 12 HP Simplicity Regent 4208 with the Peerless 810A 5spd transmission. My transmission, which just today I had to open because of a bad bushing, has no oil. It had grease inside. Is this normal? Please, if anyone has info for me I would appriciate it. Thank you

Yes,it is supposed to have grease in it insted of oil.It is my undrstanding that they use some kind of special grease.I guess you can get it from a dealer.I read somewhere about this but can't remember where at now.I need to take mine apart to replace the shift keys. mowerman1193

Thanks MowerMan, Any idea where I can get a transmission parts list? I tried the Simplicity site but had no luck. I would also like to find a place I can order parts online if you know of any. Thank you, J roy

Hey WaltB, I saw your pictures of your transmission. Although we have different model numbers the transmission you have looks identical to the one I have. I was wondering if you found the diagrams of the transmission you were looking for. I am looking for a diagram or parts list myself. I opened my case yesterday and it is very simple. Let me know if you still need help opening yours. Later, J Roy

I called the Simplicity dealer with the model # from the tractor and they printed of the trans.parts view and part #'s.You might be able to go to the Simplicity Tech. Publications web site and get a parts manual. You will need to have acrobat reader to view it.Try it at the link below. http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/techpubsearch.php mowerman1193
