First Tractor Pull of the Season

Recommended Posts

MikeES
We had our first tractor pull last weekend. It is the maiden voyage of a K361 in our 712 pulling tractor. Last year we ran a 12hp B&S. Murphy came along of course, the engine has always started just fine until it was time for us to pull and then the engine wouldn't start. The end of the story is that we finally got it going and WOW does that engine crank some power! And loud too! I geared the tractor the same as our 20HP magnum 917 and it never ran out of power. We got a 1st in 800# and a 2nd in 1000#. I think it will give the 20hp a run for its money. >> Now if only Ivan was still running his 7790 diesel?<< Mike S.

my '74 simplicity 7010 likes the higher classis 1100, 1200, 1300 and it dose just fine you need to play with your tire size a little more and cut, then you will like to pull in the less populated classis. i have 4 sets now and use lug nuts to makes tire change faster 7/16 fine ready-rod works nice. good luck my first pull is june 1st in hills iowa

Good job Mike!Congrats!,, Now if we could only have a pull off between our stuff that would be great! We found that these tracs are good only in lighter classes;900,1000,1100 .For heavier like like 1200 1400 unlimited, need a cubwith a HEAVY DUTY driveshaft main spring,,!lol,,

Adam, we had our 2nd pull this last weekend. The 718 got 1st in 800# and a 5th in 1000# (geared to high). Our 917 (which is stock) had to pull with the Stock Altered tractors (the club does not allow twins in the stock class), we got a 2nd in 1050# and 4th in 1100#. Very good against more powerful and open rpm tractors. Because of schedules and family vacations we will not pull again until last week in July. :(
