Replacing Drive Belt on Simplicity 6216

Hi all, I am trying to replace the drive belt (variator to transmission pulley) on my 6216.  I was able to yank the old one out after lots of prying but I cannot squeeze the new one on.  I followed the repair manual instructions.  The brake is released and transmission is in neutral.  There is just not enough room between the frame and transmission pulley to get the belt on.  Not really enough room between the pulley and axle either but I feel like I can probably tap that in after its on the pulley.  Anyone have some hints on this?  Thanks!

Tim, welcome to the club.

Can't help with your particular tractor, but at the top right of the page is a "search" box.  Put "6216 belt" in it and you'll find lots of reading material.

Well, I finally got her on.  I had to drain the oil and tip the tractor over on the left side.  This gave a lot more room to work and I was able to tap the belt into place with a hammer and a 12" carriage bolt.  Its probably possible to do with the wheels on the ground but I tried like that for 1.5 hours with no luck.  With it on its side, I got the belt on in less than 5 minutes.  Have someone help with the tipping as my back is paying for it right now.
