While checking Craigslist, came across this oil filter install on a 7117 with Kohler Magnum 18:

Poster's looking for a replacement engine.

I'd agree with the Cub theory.  Probably a 682 or a 782.  I bought a new 18M from a PO, who no longer had a need for it, with this same remote set up.  I had NAPA make up a different hose configuration so I could mount the remote filter on the frame in front of the engine.  This setup works very well, and looks much better than just draping it across the engine.  I also put the "Command", oil drain valve on the Magnum.  Very nice for eliminating the mess usually involved with the standard oil drain setup.
