Hello again, guys (gals?)

Fixin' to order parts for Miss Anna's Cub Cadet (I know, this is NOT the Cub "group"), and noted that the rod is the same for 12hp (K301) and 14hp (K341) Kohler engines, and the 14hp piston is only +/- .125" larger in dia. and seems to have the same compression height. My ? is has anyone here ever bored a K301 more than .030" over?

Tim Yes you can bore the K301 out to make a 14 HP out of it. I have done several of them and had no problems. I am into pulling tractors and we save lots of blocks by boring to a bigger piston. I have some running with +.030 14 HP pistons in the K 301 blocks. Kohler put a lot of meat in those old engines. I am sure you will enjoy the Duetz you have and will get it shook out in time. I think you will find there in not a better deck on the market when it comes to cutting and doing a good job. Good to have you here with us on the forum. Larry
