Briggs 18hp Vanguard Ignition Coil Armature

Recommended Posts

I replaced a Kohler KT19 Series 2 a few years back with a Briggs 18hp Vanguard.  Discovered today I had mice build a nest behind the tins.  It wasn't enough that I had to pull the engine to clean out the mess, in addition, the little buggers chewed on the Armature wires.  Did some searching tonight and see a huge variance in price.  $20 to $50 each.  Does anyone have experience with the "off brand" models that are all over Amazon?  Also, any advice on a deterrent for future mice?

I usually try to find a US seller when looking at aftermarket items on eBay. I bought an aftermarket coil for a 7hp Briggs on eBay and it seems to work fine.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
