Briggs 18hp Vanguard Ignition Coil Armature

I replaced a Kohler KT19 Series 2 a few years back with a Briggs 18hp Vanguard.  Discovered today I had mice build a nest behind the tins.  It wasn't enough that I had to pull the engine to clean out the mess, in addition, the little buggers chewed on the Armature wires.  Did some searching tonight and see a huge variance in price.  $20 to $50 each.  Does anyone have experience with the "off brand" models that are all over Amazon?  Also, any advice on a deterrent for future mice?

I have heard and used dryer sheets to deter mice. You can also search internet.

I usually try to find a US seller when looking at aftermarket items on eBay. I bought an aftermarket coil for a 7hp Briggs on eBay and it seems to work fine.

Thanks for the suggestions:

Ended up going with Stens, installed today and working just fine.  Also bought some moth balls in a mesh bag.  Plan to stuff this under the air cleaner between uses.  Time will tell.

Lay them on the ground around it’s sides. A few under gas tank area.
