My 917H has the standard original Kohler.   It starts and runs good.   After about five minutes of use (mowing the yard this time of year) it begins to miss and lose power.   It does not die.   After several minutes of this "missing" it clears and runs normal.  I usually mow for one to two hours at a time.  It appears something is breaking down during warm up.  This has happened for the last five to six weeks.  I mow once a week.

Again,  it works OK when cold and after about 10 minutes of operation.

Any suggestions how to locate this problem?  I do not want to simply replace parts.  I would prefer to use all of the clubs years of experience.
