Not very familiar with this site yet. Bench tested s/g and it was working. Replaced regulator and no change. When I start tractor gauge will show charge for about 5 seconds then zero. Turn on lites and discharge. At a loss for next step. Help!

When You ran the engine to charge the battery, did it blow a fuse?  How old is the battery? When you try to charge the battery, what is the voltage across the battery?

Check output at operating speed. Check all connections at S/G and regulator, check your grounds. What machine is it? Did you get a proper regulator? Too many questions to help you very much.
