Hello, I bought a couple of hoses from "Surplus Center" they did not have the offset ,at the end but were able to be used

It is quite a job to remove the power steering unit to be able to get to the fittings . If you can get the steering wheel off!

Thanks Ken in Mi

i measured them after I removed the  power steering unit

I ordered 2 hoses  1\4 inch jic 6f x jic 6f

A 30 inch hose and an 18 inch hose  JIC is the type of fitting  (6 F is the size and a female thread)

good luck

Thanks Ken in Mi

Based on this pic:

It looks like you might have pulled the steering wheel center hub (metal) out of the wheel rather than removing the whole wheel from the shaft.  If so, were you able to repair the wheel?

Reference pic of steering unit shaft end for those not familiar with spool PS:

The splines are very small and would rust easily I would think.  When I installed my PS kit, I liberally coated the splines with anti-seize.  Hopefully if I have to get the steering wheel off, it will be an easy job.

Another thing I just notice when looking for the above pic, is the difference in the hoses used used in OEM PS install when the tractor was built (Sov18, MFG# 1692798):

PS Kit purchased in 2011:

The OEM installed hoses appear to have a fabric outer covering vs the kit hoses are rubber.  Hopefully the kit hoses are an improvement.

I need the one from pump to valve which is the 44” , unfortunately this site only has 36” .so I think I am gonna buy two 24” with a union for this one .

the other ones won’t be an issue .

on the other hand I am not gonna take the steering wheel off spindle, instead I am gonna pull the whole unit out , one bolt that holds valve to frame and the 4 bolts that hold the dash . Beside disconnecting hoses , maybe a smart move to replace them all , they are cheap enough from this site .
thank u guys for the  valuable info

Hello, the steering wheel in the photo was cracked  ! my puller setup was so powerful it pulled the insert out!

I had ordered a replacement steering wheel  from e-bay .

I was able to press the insert back in and used some E-6000 glue to repair it .

It is hanging on my wall .

Thanks Ken in Mi
