Honda GX610 fuel pump

Fuel pump on my Honda GX610 isn't pumping fuel.  It is the square bodied aluminum unit, not the black plastic one.  I removed the pump and sucked on the vacuum line.  I hear it click clicking.  Same on the input and output lines.  I took the cover off (the fuel pump).  The diaphragm seems to be intact.   I then held my thumb over the vacuum line from the engine and had my son turn the ignition key to crank the motor over.  I felt a gentle sucking.  Is there a way to measure the vacuum from the motor to see if it is sufficient?  Or is the fuel pump just shot?  Is there any real difference between the metal bodied unit and the less expensive plastic models??

Yes.  The square aluminum pumps are a Mikuni DF-52 Square Body & they are re-buildable.  Use the Winderosa kit# 451454 ($5.39).

Or better yet, send it to me & buy the round plastic one.
