Need help identifying model number

I just bought a Simplicity Sovereign - 16 HP Cast Iron Briggs 1976 and am not familiar with this drive type. It has a 4 speed shift between the legs and a forward and reverse lever on the right side - the lever looks just like a hydro unit shift lever. I am not sure what lubricants need to be checked on the transmission or what to use. Unfortunately, the tractor has no model numbers on it at all. So I am stuck as where to find the right manual. Is there any one who can help me attach a model number to this unit? It would be appreciated. I want to make sure I am using the right lubes and verify that they are full for the right angle gear box and the transmission. Thank You.

For sure you have a shuttle drive transmission. Problem is, I can find those used with 12 & 14 hp engines, but not 16hp. Maybe I missed it, or your engine has been replaced, or it's not a 16hp. Go over to SimpletrACtors and check the x-ref and other "rooms". There's alot of info there.

Try to place a picture or two here so we can help. I looked and can't find a reference to your setup...Woody

Is this yours? http://www.simpletractors.com/simplicity/new_in_1973/sovereign_specs.htm If it is here is your manual. Take a look at page 4. http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/6767PRINT/PDF_files/TP_100_1360_00_SV_S.pdf ...Woody (sometimes MadManX)
