Roy 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2002 Jim, I don't remember what controls the end play (maybe partially by the set collar on the axle; left side I think) but I would not worry about it, There is some play in the main axle tube and gears inside the transmission case and some play between the axle tube and axle assembly. thedaddycat 8 Report post Posted June 5, 2002 Check your locking collars on both sides to make sure they are in as close to the trans. as possible. Too much axial movement may cause the right side gear to slide away from the pinion gears in the differential. It will then strip out these gears. To replace these gears from the dealer is about $200 and will lead you to search the web and find cool tractor sites.... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
