Simplicity is ceasing production

The brand has been on the back burner for years. Dealers were quitting due to lack of support and product supply long before Covid. No doubt the bankruptcy is playing a role in some of B&S decisions I still believe had they been “All-in” on supporting the brand for more than the first few years, it could have remained viable.

i new it would be downhill once briggs bought simplicity out

Simplicity selling out to Briggs, Briggs taking over Murray assets to recover $40mil on the books, Briggs filing bankruptcy, investment group takeover of Briggs assets all contributed the slow death trot of Simplicity. Wish I'd bought a new Sovereign when I had a chance in 2001. I thought it too expensive at the time and I wanted foot control, but hindsight...

Now, if SimpletrACtors could somehow get the rights to the Simplicity name...

But first we have to clean up the ownership of the site by the club, right?

Unless that has been done and unannounced?

Got to wonder what they are going to do with the spare parts tooling assets.

Or rights for the drawings and CAD models for spares.

Interesting that Snapper brand has value but Simplicity brand does not.

Per Eheren Thommas’ post on Facebook (he is a longtime dealer) it has to do with Simplicity dealer contracts being breached if licensed to be sold through any channel other than the independent dealer network that was put in place and that has their hands tied as to what can be done with it.

Any drawing I've ever requested though tech support has been emailed to me within an hour or so. Revitalizer tines were the last ones. As long it was a Simplicity built part. Before I had an FB name, I sent that drawing to @bowhunt4life post on one of the FB groups.  Blades were manufactured in Watertown WI by a place who's name escapes me at the moment.  @Bill725 can vouch.
