Landlord 2110 generator squealing

Recommended Posts

I think the original S/Gs on my B-110 and Homelite T-12 had bearings at each end; here's a pic of a rebuild kit for them:

A fair number of different S/Gs have passed through my hands, here's a pic of one with a bushing with the oil hole:

It probably wasn't an original Simplicity S/G but it did come with a Simplicity/AC/AC Homelite tractor.

The early starter-generators had the ball bearings on both ends. Around 1968 they switched to the bushing on the RH end with an aluminum end cap.

A good shop that rebuilds starts and alternators can also rebuild starter generators. I know when I cracked the end of my starter generator, the local rebuild shop had a starter generator on the shelf ready to go.
