mbinwi 14 Posted November 13 (edited) My snow thrower project is up and running. Used it a week or so ago up here in the north woods of WI. It works great. Thanks to all that answered my questions. I made a few minor adjustments to the idler pulley mount, so it works as it should. The cast iron Briggs 16 hp. still as over 80 lbs of compression. Chris727 2,246 Posted November 16 That compression is a tad low.
RickS 117 Posted November 18 I ran a landlord with low compression for several years. Clear snow just fine. The compression was so low that when you turned it off the motor would continue to spin for several revolutions. However once the motor was rebuilt it really cleared the snow. I agree with Chris, start saving for a rebuild or replacement motor. Rick
