Legacy XL Kawasaki Oil Drain Valve Replace

After changing the oil on my Kawasaki powered Legacy XL, the oil drain valve leaked. I purchased a new valve from Simplicity. I thought it would be a simple job to remove and replace, but the valve stem hits the hole in the engine mounting plate on the frame. Have to remove the (4) engine mounting screws and jack up the LH side of the engine to remove the valve. The valve has an o-ring on the end of the stem for sealing and it fails causing the leak. The valve body is swaged so the stem it not removeable to replace the o-ring. Was difficult using (2) crow bars to move engine into position to re-install the engine mounting screws.

Oil drain valve info.

John Deere P/N AM115362

Rotary P/N 12111

Stens P/N 125-732

The oil pan has metric threads M16X1.5. Next time I am going to try replacing the valve with a hydraulic elbow and cap.

Wanted to attach (2) pictures but get an error.
