Do I need weights on front of a plow tractor?

Been a long time since I put a snowblower on a Sovereign.

using the mid pto.

do I have to move idler pulley position?

Think this tractor was last used to mow with.

I do not see  any colors near pulley

I cannot steer it with blade down

it is like I have a locked rear end

Yes. Blower uses the position that sets the pulley in more of a straight line to the front of the tractor.. Mower uses the position that kicks the pully off to one side

 

When I used to live in town I ran a pair of the mushroom weights on the front wheels of a power steering equipped Massey Soveriegn. They seemed to help a little.
