Sovereign power steering Triad

Hello, I couldn't help myself, I saw it on marketplace and had to go get it!

It is an 1693407 sovereign with PS and 48 mower deck.

The seller said the fuel pump failed and has been sitting for years. 

I think the hydro filter has never been changed

 

When the steering wheel is turned, nothing happens. The fluid must have drained out of the PS valve.

I hooked up a Battery to it, and it turned over, but when I released the key, the starter stayed engaged.

Pull the cam cover & remove the pump. Your cam is most likely worn causing the fuel pump not to work. Make a block off plate that is drilled & tapped for a 90 degree barb fitting. Add a pulse pump getting crankcase pressure from hole in the plate. Be cognizant in preventing oil from entering the pulse line. Note the location of the hole I made and the sintered bronze filter added to the barb fitting. 
notch the elevation plate to match up with the hole in the frame & move the oil drain from the left side to the right side. The air cleaner modification is up to you but the original plugs up quickly. Not a big deal if you blow out after each use. Check the timing belt tension & torque appropriately & pray your oil pump holds up. Any further inquiries, feel free to P.M. me. Hello, This is the 3rd traid  engine I have had , The first 2 had failed. This one at least turns over .

The fuel line is disconnected.   The tractor has been worked on in the past. 

I am in the process of removing the engine . .

In the past I have repowered a sovereign with the Predator 22HP

Wow Ken, you are a Triad magnet. I don't know if they sell but used Triad parts are priced high on Ebay now if you decide to replace the engine.

Hello, I pulled the Triad out and Installed the predator 22 HP into it .

The starter problem was solved with a new solenoid

I changed the Hydro filter and oil and  Rode around on it 

It needs a little tinkering  getting the throttle and choke cable adjusted .

Another Predator engine?  

Or just a temporary install of your "old" Predator for testing?

Hello, I removed the Predator engine from the sovereign  with no power steering,

to the  one with power steering. I may move the hood and seat pan too. 

Then it will be shiny .

I always wondered what it would take to torque a lift or hydro handle the way that one is.  I have found they are pretty tough cookies to bend at all.  I wouldn't want to arm wrestle whomever was frustrated and just plain o' twisted it in his grip.  I think you just address him as "Sir" and leave it at that...........

Hello, I already straightened  , the hydro lift handle.

I didn't think anyone would notice!

I have to repair the matching rear tire ,that is flat.

I would salvage the chopper screen and installation bolts/spacers/etc.  They fit a Command.  You might be installing one someday.
